Gardens, Self-Love and Appreciation:
What Romance
Means to Me
By
Mercedes Cruz
Romance
for me is as much a part of my life as water is. I need it to survive. It’s more
than flowers, jewelry or chocolate and other gifts during certain holidays.
Romance includes engaging in activities that you love. Activities such as
reading, writing, watching my favorite T.V. show, spending time with my partner
or girlfriends and even meditating.
One of
my favorite things to do is go for long walks by myself in public gardens
during the summer months. It’s my version of getting back to nature. I take
pictures with and of the beautiful flowers and trees that nature provides. When
I leave the garden I come home with a sense of renewed appreciation for all the
living creatures in my life, yes including my wonderful partner. ♥
