WELCOME TO BOOK COVER FRIDAYS!

Every week we bring you an exciting hot book cover from
one of New York's Leading Romance Authors.

ROMANCING THE FASHIONISTA
The Flirty Fashionistas, Book 1
K.M. Jackson
Samhain

SUMMARY:  Manhattan fashion maven and magazine editor Melinda Mitchell shuns the social media spotlight. That is, until a tipsy girl’s night out ends with her first Facebook account and a friend request from none other than her secret high school crush, Nolan Parker.

When Nolan lost his chance at the big leagues, he signed on with Doctors Without Borders and never looked back. Now he’s back home to help out his ailing father. Running into Mel at his fifteen-year high school reunion rekindles old feelings he thought he’d buried for good.
Intrigued by Nolan’s irresistibly sexy profile, Melinda heads to the reunion with her best friend to see if the picture matches up to the man. Their instant attraction flares brighter than the Manhattan skyline.

Although the tough fashionista and accomplished ex-jock rub each other the very right way, a few stumbling blocks will decide if the heat between them is a symptom of forever love, or a past that should be left where it belongs.

SUMMER READING WITH ROMANCE AUTHOR URSULA RENEE

RWA/NYC members share their summer reading lists.
So pull up a beach chair, breakout the sun tan lotion
and open a book (or tablet)!

From Ursula Renée:  It is hard for me to pick five books that are must reads for the summer. Therefore, I will list five authors, who I feel you will enjoy, no matter which book of theirs you choose.

1.      Karen Rose writes romantic suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Her characters are relatable and the plots grab the readers and hold on to them until the satisfying end.

2.     Sherrilyn Kenyon has the ability to take an antagonist from one story and delve deep into his history, allowing readers to discover that there is a reason for every action. By the time she is finished, the readers are not only rooting for the antagonist turned protagonist, but they have shed a tear or two for his pain. Readers should be warned that the topics can get a bit deep and are sometimes hard to handle. However, in the end, the protagonist gets a happily-for-now.

3.      Shonda Rhime’s YEAR OF YES is a must read book for anyone who wants change, but is too afraid to take the first step.

4.     Beverly Jenkins interweaves fiction with history to produce African-American historical romances that make readers crave more. Her heroines are strong and determined to move forward despite the challenges they have faced, while the heroes are strong, yet sensitive to the woman’s needs.

5.   I’ve always liked an alpha male and Julie Garwood has never failed to produce one, or more, in her novels. Even though I own the hardcovers, I’ve purchased ebooks copies of her contemporary novels so I can reread her books whenever and wherever I am. ♥

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  Ursula Renée writes interracial romances set between World War I and the 1960s. Her novels include SWEET JAZZ and A BOOKIE’S ODDS. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America and The Historical Novel Society. When she is not writing, Ursula enjoys drawing, photography and stone carving. For more information go to: www.ursularenee.com.

A collection of short stories with a multitude of diverse tales in the tradition of the talking drum.

3.    SWEAR ON THIS LIFE by Renee Carlino

SUMMER READING WITH ROMANCE AUTHOR LAQUETTE

RWA/NYC members share their summer reading lists.
So pull up a beach chair, breakout the sun tan lotion
and open a book (or tablet)!

Hey, it’s your girl LaQuette dropping in to share some of my Summer reads. Now, the directive for this blog tour was to share five books I planned to read over the Summer. Well…you know I have to be different, so instead of five books I’m going to list my five Summer series re-reads.

The Faith, Love & Devotion Series by Tere Michaels
This series is six books worth of organic conflict, sarcasm in spades, cute and not so cute kids, and ALL OF THE FEELS (yes, all of them). After reading this series I defy you to tell me Matt Haight isn’t the funniest man you’ve ever met on a page.

The Watch Me Series by Avril Ashton
There’s only one way to describe this series…HOT! This series has every version of the sexy men we all dream about: Lawyers in power suits, ‘round the way gangsters with their pants sagging and their underground criminal enterprises, and EMT’s in their fitted uniforms and utility belts. HOT!!!!

The Gay Amish Romance Series by Keira Andrews
If angst is your thing this series is for you. The heartache you will experience while reading these books as these two young men try to find a way to balance their faith and their love will nearly break you. Fortunately, Ms. Andrews is skilled enough to put you back together again by the time these two get their happy.

The Storm’s Soldiers MC Series by Paige Notaro
This is an erotic romance that deals with the very heavy issue of racism in America. It’s hot, it’s thought-provoking, and it’s hot (I know I said that before, but trust me, it bears mentioning again).

The Home Series by Cardeno C.
It just never gets old. A perfect mix of touching emotion, sentimentality, and sexy. You just can’t go wrong with this series.

Well, that’s what I’ll be reading this summer. It’s a lot of books, fortunately for me I read fast. Try them, I promise you won’t regret it. That’s all for now. I’m LaQuette, your friendly erotic romance author, embracing my crazy…one character at a time. Happy reading! ♥

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  This bestselling Erotic Romance Author is the 2016 Author of the Year Golden Apple Award Winner, 2015 Swirl Awards Bronze Winner in Romantic Suspense, and 2015 Georgia Romance Writers Maggie Award Finalist in Erotic Romance. SUMMER READING WITH ROMANCE AUTHOR ERICA OBEY

RWA/NYC members share their summer reading lists.
So pull up a beach chair, breakout the sun tan lotion
and open a book (or tablet)!

FROM ERICA OBEY:  I always use the summer to take down some books from my shelves that I haven’t had time to read before.  Here’s my list:

1.     A CIVIL CAMPAIGN by Lois McMaster Bujold
How can you resist a science fiction homage to Regency romance, dedicated to “Jane, Charlotte, Georgette, and Dorothy”?

2.     MERLIN’S MIRROR by Andre Norton.
Arguably not neglected, but very much a woman author.

3.     THE FIVE MINUTE MARRIAGE by Joan Aiken
Certainly not neglected as a children’s book author: Wolves of Willoughby Chase is still one of my all-time favorites.  But her grown-up books deserve more recognition.

4.    THE MABINOGION TETRALOGY by Evangeline Walton
Discovered when she was in her sixties, after languishing in obscurity for forty years, Walton had twenty more years to enjoy public recognition and create new work.

5.    THE ENCHANTMENTS OF BRITAIN OR KING ARTHUR’S ROUND TABLE OF THE STARS by K.E. Maltwood
My dissertation was on Lady Charlotte Guest, a female folklorist, and I still collect their work.♥

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  When she is not writing or teaching courses on mystery fiction, fairy tale and fantasy, and Arthurian romance at Fordham University, Erica Obey collects Arthuriana, neglected women writers, and best of all, Arthuriana by neglected women writers.  Her latest novel, THE LAZARUS VECTOR, is coming from Amphorae Publishing in October, 2016.  Visit her at www.ericaobey.com and https://www.facebook.com/EricaObeyAuthor/
