I hope that I will one day get the opportunity to do this, then I will share my tips.
Best of luck finding a home for your historical.Karen Cinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08357416992945729324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4498845843905507548.post-60631320773041717032009-11-13T18:07:09.772-05:002009-11-13T18:07:09.772-05:00Mari,

I'm not expecting much marketing help from my publisher (my first book is due out next year with an e-pub, The Wild Rose Press). You bring up some interesting points and I did consider self-publishing before I went ahead and submitted to TWRP. Good luck shopping your historical!
LisLisbeth Enghttp://www.lisbetheng.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4498845843905507548.post-55468254139605111932009-11-13T16:43:06.606-05:002009-11-13T16:43:06.606-05:00You're a smart cookie, Lise. I think, however, that the Carina operation is essentially going to be something along the lines of the other e-publishers. No better, perhaps, no worse, perhaps. Some e-publishers actually have a lot more marketing activity on behalf of their authors because it is all on-line marketing activity. And Harlequin's on-line advertisements are everywhere - including on sites having nothing to do with writing, romance or books. So perhaps Carina will likewise have some activity of that nature. But I firmly believe that, essentially, any efforts by the publishers (no matter the format) are a mere drop in the bucket and that for real success it will always be up to the author. Self-published or not. But keep speaking your mind! It's quite refreshing and I appreciate the substance of your argument.Lisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13315265091119634416noreply@blogger.com
