MEET HERO: Krish “the Beast” Menon from BOOTIE AND THE BEAST by Falguni Kothari

Welcome to RWA/NYC’s Hero Blog Tour.

We are interviewing Heroes from New York’s Romance Authors.  You met their Leading Ladies last month.  We know you’ll fall in love with each of these heroes.  We did!

Q:  We have to know, boxers or briefs?
Briefs.

Q:  Where do you work and what kind of car do you drive?
Until a couple of weeks ago, I was CFO of Armadillo Farms and Foods. Now that Armadillo has been sold to Wisco Foods, I’m helping the merged company integrate as smoothly as possible. Wisco has asked me to continue on as CFO (with caveats) but I am unsure of the move. I am thinking of branching out on my own…which doesn’t scare me so much as confuses me. Why do I want to change the status quo?  (Smirking briefly) Did Dee-Dumbs put you up to the car question? But to answer: I drive a silver Porsche. And yes, it’s a coupe.

Q:  Have you ever posed for a male calendar? Would you?
Hell no! One pose-crazy narcissist in the family is enough.

Q:  Tell us your story.
There’s not much to tell. I thought Diya had rejected me all those years ago. I thought she thought we didn’t suit. I still don’t think I can make her happy. Hell! I’m the biggest fuddy-duddy in Texas; she’s the Party Princess of India! I’m a boring beast; she sparkles with joy and life. But love can’t be contained, can it? I only hope that I’m worthy of her love.

Q:  What was the first thing you noticed about the heroine?
(Smiling wickedly) Her perfectly round thirty-three centimeter head when I held her in my arms for the first time.

Q:  Describe her looks.
She’s beautiful, inside and out. I’ve known her since her birth, you know. I’ve watched her grow, change, blossom like a rose unfurling in slow motion, and every stage has been a masterpiece.

Q:  Is the heroine a sweetheart or a vixen? Does she help or hinder you?
That’s an easy one. She’s a sweetheart, for the most part. Only I seem to draw out the vixen in her (sighs.) She’s a good person—loyal, compassionate, giving. Not what you’d expect of a supermodel. The only thing that bugs me is her penchant to get into trouble—especially of the nude variety.

Q:  Do you believe in Happy Ever After or Happy Right Now?
I don’t believe in happiness or sadness. I believe we all have our crosses to bear.

Q:  Who is your favorite superhero?
Iron Man.

Q:  Describe your author.
A Mumbaikar at heart, Falguni Kothari lives in New York with her family and a sweet as chocolate Maltese named Truffles. She loathes cooking and flying and holds a fervent hope that teleportation become a viable travel option within her lifetime. On most days, she is found embroiled in some or other scandal on her ever-faithful laptop. She loves tales of all kinds and is partial to sassy ones with happy-ever-after endings.  She lurks about a whole smorgasbord of Social Media daily and lives to engage with her readers. 1. Diya will be quite happy (and slightly jealous) that you said so.
