the RWA/NYC Chapter Meeting.
12:00-3:00 pm, via Zoom.
There
will be a business meeting from 12:00-1:00pm.
Our Keynote Speaker
will join us at 1:00pm.
TOPIC:
ROMANCE IS MY DAY JOB
Keynote:
Patience Bloom, Senior Editor, Harlequin Books
This
workshop will address questions about how to submit to Harlequin and what
editors are looking for, especially during this unique period. What kinds of
stories are we interested in (pandemic-themed or no?) and how to
write/submit/keep writing/research/never quit writing during these
extraordinary circumstances.
BIO: Patience
Bloom is a senior editor for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. In addition to
devouring true crime and all things suspenseful, she also loves reading the
latest celebrity memoir or romantic comedy. At Harlequin, she tends to work on
a wide spectrum of romances-from Love Inspired to Special Edition to HQN, with
a specialization in suspense. Before joining Harlequin in 1997, Patience taught
French and Latin at Sandia Preparatory School in New Mexico. She holds a B.A.
in French and Latin from Oberlin College and a master's degree in French
Literature from the University of New Mexico. She is the author of her own true
romance,
ROMANCE IS MY DAY JOB.
