MY AUNTIE ZOYA
by Tania Senko

She turned around. It was he! The same debonair, chocolate brown, wavy haired, blue-eyed young man who’d come out of nowhere that day, had again appeared unexpectedly by her side this evening. Who was this strange, but intriguing man?

“Do you remember me?”

She lied and shook her head. “No,” she said, acting surprised.

“I was at the Petrograd train station a few months back. I helped your father with that monster trunk of yours.”

He grinned, his lips full upon his clean-shaven face. Zoya clenched the stem of her glass.

“My spine hasn’t been the same since!” He teased.

Zoya pointed her manicured finger at him. “Ah, yes. Now I recall.”

“Are you travelling lighter, these days?”

She laughed. “No.”

“Well then, I must exercise more.” He winked. “Just in case.” He locked his eyes with hers. “Unless you’re staying in Moscow,” he added with a flirty intonation.♥
